28.4.2016

Today was the second last working day at Heritage Malta, Maritime Museum.

So far I have been written in Finnish, but since also my supervisors and co-workers are reading this blog I will do todays notes in English.

First of all I would like to thank all At the museum, and Heritage Malta. Team is one of those dream teams I have been ever worked with.

Support for a student was more than satisfactory, advices given openly and got also large range of acknowledgement about local culture, history, interesting places to see.

Atmosphere at the work has been the best one can expect.

Today I got the permission to publish the result of our project.
So Here it comes.

Ready restored Captain chair Dated back late 1800 century out of Peach wood. Made in Malta.
Notice that the rights to publish this picture has been given by Heritage Malta. Copying, using and forwarding this picture is strictly forbidden to third parts. Photo taken by Laura Ikonen.

And then finally the best places to visit and to see as my point of view.

First find the map attached. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to visit in Gozo or Comino Island so I can tell only parts seen.

But as far as I know by the others those two islands are definitely worth visiting and the best way to get out of those is to take two to three days to explore the islands.

So first the map.

As you can see it is possible to see quite a lot in a short period of time. We actually had all together 6 days for traveling around and see the sights.

18 museums, more or less the same amount of churches, fish market, natural views and sights, towers, Catholic festal, medieval feast, crafts village and so much more.

Not being anyhow on side of own workplace, could warmly recommend to visit Maritime museum and War Museum in order to get the bigger picture of resent history and as well the history of living by the seashore.
If one would like to go further to the history first visit in archaeology museum in order to get the bigger picture of history before visiting at the temples.

Social part of Malta will be seen in museums of Fine Arts, Inquisitors palace, Palace state rooms, Domus Romana, Palazzo Falson as well some other little museums.
Now some pictures out of higlights of the month for my point of wiew.
